RECAP is short form for “Rethinking End-of-life through Circularity and Advanced Processes”. The five Horizon Europe projects involved are CompSTLar, BIO4EEB, iBot4CRMs, ICARUS and Wood2Wood.
In the workshop (WS 58) titled “Rewriting the playbook for smart sustainable manufacturing in Europe”, industry, policymakers, researchers will come together to co-create strategies in an interactive session that could support European industrial resilience and competitiveness.
This webinar will be led by EU-funded project ICARUS that is aiming to provide “technological support to energy-intensive and construction industries for the transition to more sustainable and digital processes in a business model for successful market implementation.”
At least 25 academic and post-graduate students were present for the engagement and asked questions on the processes and chemistry behind the Use Case 2.
One major area of intervention in the bioeconomy strategy is to better utilise bio-based waste streams, emphasising cascade use, recycling and upcycling processes to extend material life cycles and reduce dependence on virgin resources.
The event brought together specialists from academia, industry, and policy to discuss how artificial intelligence, data analytics and economic modelling are driving the digital transformation of business, economic and social systems.
