Wood2Wood project will be attending the two-day annual European Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform (ECESP) conference in Brussels between April 22-23. This will be the second consecutive year of Wood2Wood’s participation.
This year’s ECESP conference theme is “A competitive and fair circular Europe: The ambition at the heart of the single market”. The event will shape the very foundations of Europe’s Circular future seen through the lens of the Circular Economy Act (CEA). The core idea is to facilitate a multi-stakeholder dialogue under one roof and strengthen the Single Market for circular products and services while addressing barriers and opportunities.

This high-level conference will explore and discuss the ambitions, scope and policy direction of the Circular Economy Act (CEA) while contextualising it with the EU legislative framework, investment opportunities and global developments. Additionally, the conference will address several key EU strategies, such as the Bioeconomy Strategy (we wrote about this last year) and barriers in implementing these strategies.
Here’s what you can expect from the conference (adapted from ECESP website):
- Day 1: “High-level policy debates about the CEA’s political ambitions, its contribution to the Single Market, its global implications, mobilising finance for circularity, and the role of youth in promoting intergenerational fairness.”
- Day 2: “Stakeholder Day” featuring sessions on the CEA and the EU Bioeconomy Strategy, as well as five parallel workshops addressing implementation challenges and enabling conditions. These workshops will cover financing mechanisms, societal and social economy aspects, intermediaries and brokers, public procurement, packaging, the role of cities and regions, and critical raw materials, with specific attention to selected value chains.”
Just like in 2025, Wood2Wood will speak with key stakeholders shaping the Circular Economy Act (CEA) and highlight the project’s ongoing activities in sorting and separation, upcycling technologies, digital tools for facilitating circular material flows and how we are creating supportive frameworks in policy, market and skills to contribute towards the material circularity goals of the EU.
Read about our engagement from 2025: “How can W2W align with EU policies or funding to boost circular use of wood waste”: W2W asks stakeholders at ECESP in Brussels

Active engagement with the ECESP reflects our intention to be part of the ongoing discussions on the Circular Economy Act (CEA), hear from policymakers the implementation roadmap of the Bioeconomy strategy and contribute on both these fronts by making meaningful connections with relevant stakeholders to enhance project visibility. One of the main project objectives is to increase the availability of secondary raw materials, wood in our case, in the European market to ensure steady momentum towards creating a single market for secondary raw materials.
Being present at the ECESP conference allows us to talk about our project while also learning from the Circular Economy community their views and hopes for a just, and inclusive circular transition.
We will write several blogposts highlighting key discussions at the conference.
