Wood2Wood, a Horizon Europe Project, will showcase its technologies and Use Case examples at Ecomondo, in Rimini, Italy between November 5-8, 2024.
Ecomondo is one of Italy’s foremost exhibitions on green and circular economy, and brings together industrial groups, stakeholders, policymakers, opinion leaders, local authorities, and research institutions in order to collaborate to establish the key components that shape the strategies for developing EU environmental policy.
For W2W, Ecomondo serves as the right platform to highlight the project’s intended role in augmenting competitiveness, certification and policy for promoting circular economy and sustainable practices in the industry. The project will drive sustainable practices by developing and implementing supportive frameworks for certification and standardisation of secondary materials made out of wood waste from two sectors: Construction & Demolition (C&D) and furniture.
Ecomondo’s positioning as an international event catering to Europe and the Mediterranean Basin for all things related to technology, services and industrial solutions makes it an attractive exhibition for W2W as our consortium partners hail from all across Europe but specifically also from Italy and Greece. Moreover, through three Use Cases, W2W aims to offer industrial solutions in wood waste management, particularly in cleaning, sorting, and separating materials by employing advanced and innovative recycling and upcycling technologies.
W2W will be represented alongside two other Horizon Europe projects on sustainable waste management and material recovery, namely RECLAIM and Grinner Project.
While RECLAIM Project is developing an AI-powered portable robotic material recovery facility for remote and isolated areas, Grinner aims at commercialising an autonomous AI-enabled robotic sorting system capable of detecting and removing waste containing batteries from current waste streams before they enter inhospitable-to-battery machines that crush and consolidate waste.
At Ecomondo, all three projects will be showcased at the the International Solid Waste Association (ISWA) booth number 505, in Hall B5. Besides booth participation, a workshop on the same day will focus on overlapping themes such as AI, Robotics for sorting and material recovery.
Our brochures will be on display throughout the exhibition.
